PARTS OF SPEECH
(i) English Language is a family of nine (9) members called parts of speech.
(ii) Learning about the parts of speech is the first step in grammar study just as learning the letters of the alphabet is the first step to being able to read and write.
(iii) From learning the parts of speech you begin to understand the use or function of words and how words are joined together to make meaningful communication.
(iv) Following are the parts of speech in English Language.
1. Noun
2. Pronoun
3. Verb
4. Adverb
5. Adjective
6. Article
7. Preposition
8. Conjunction
9. Interjection
Breaking grammar into categories like nouns, verbs, adjectives, and adverbs makes it much easier to understand how sentences are formed. I think many learners focus only on vocabulary, but grammar is what helps us communicate ideas clearly and confidently. It also reminds me of why good grammar is so important. Strong grammar improves writing, speaking, and even professional communication, making our message easier for others to understand.
